About us

Mitra Drilling and Construction PTY LTD is a mid-size directional drilling contractor based in Wodonga, Victoria. We employ 8 full time and 3 casual staff members. Mitra Drilling was started in 2005 by director Michael Cheshire to fill a gap in the telecommunications sector of industry specific, in-house, fully end to end design, construct, and commission contractors in the Albury/Wodonga area.

Since then, as demand has grown for our unique services, Mitra has grown to cover the needs of many other industries especially electrical and with the purchase of specific equipment we can now offer-

• Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

• Rock Drilling including our own drill mud recycle unit to minimize environmental impact

• Existing underground service locating including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) locations, electronic cable locating and potholing

• All excavation including trenching and trench reinstatment to relevant authority standards

• Pit and pipe supply and installation

• Non-Destructive Digging (NDD)/ Vacuum Excavation (vac truck)

• Copper and fibre optic cable hauling, jointing, splicing, and commissioning.

Mitra staff hold all relevant licenses and VOCs applicable to our work including but not limited to first aid, machinery licenses and competencies, traffic control, ACM removal, blue-book training (ACT) HV spotters licenses and  VEDN training.
